Day 1 – Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

As you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, and have gone through immigration and baggage reclaim, you will be welcomed by your own Blue Lizard Adventures representative, holding a sign with your name on it. From here, you will transfer to Ilboru Safari Lodge, situated just outside Arusha.

A late dinner will be waiting for you on arrival, before overnight here.

Day 2 – Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After a good nights sleep and breakfast at the lodge, your guide will arrive at the lodge, and you will sit together for a short pre-safari brief and a cup of coffee before the safari starts.

And the safari starts …..

From the lodge, you will drive a few hours South to Tarangire National Park, for a full day game drive in the park. Your guide will set up a nice lunch for you in the bush, enjoying the food and view over a glass of wine.

In the afternoon you will arrive at the camp, and your guide and cook will prepare the camp while you can relax with a cup of coffee/tea, or maybe some wine, before your private bush chef will prepare a delicious 3 course meal for you.

Day 3 – Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at the camp you will go for a short game drive as you leave Tarangire National Park, heading to Serengeti National Park. On route to Serengeti you will pass through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at Oldupai Gorge, an important archaeological site for a guided tour in the gorge and a visit to the museum there. After the visit to the gorge, you will continue to Serengeti, stopping for lunch on the Ngorongoro plains.

As you enter Serengeti National Park you will an afternoon game drive as you slowly make your way to a public campsite, where you will stay the while in Serengeti National Park.

Spend the late afternoon/evening around the bonfire with a glass of wine, sharing stories with your guide and other guests at the camp.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

Spend the full day on a game drive in Serengeti National Park, with breakfast and lunch as either picnic meals or hot meals back at the camp.

Serengeti National Park is arguably one of the most famous National Parks in the world. Together with the Masai Mara Game Reserve and the Ngorongoro Conservation area, Serengeti holds one of the last true animal migrations on earth with as many as 3 million animal migration through these two parks every year.

Serengeti is also famous for its many predatory animals such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas and many more.

Return to the camp in the afternoon for some drinks and good food before overnight.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at the camp, you will go on a game drive as you leave Serengeti, returning to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you enter Ngorongoro, you will drive to the rim of the famous Ngorongoro Crater, before descending down for a half day game drive on the crater floor.

The Ngorongoro Crater is  a 3 million year old collapsed volcano that over the years has developed a unique eco system, only found here in the world. It boasts an amazing wildlife, and the highly endangered black rhino can be seen here. Ngorongoro Crater is also famous for holding the highest density of predatory mammals over a short area.

Lunch will be at a picnic spot on the crater floor, before in the late afternoon you ascend the crater wall, driving to Simba public campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – ?

After breakfast at the camp you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, heading back to Arusha Town. From here you will either transfer to Kilimanjaro Int. Airport, or, Arusha airport should you wish to extend your trip with a few days well earned  rest, relaxing in Zanzibar.
